Some events are about more than just taking photos, they're about capturing moments that tell a story. This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing another incredible Temple City Outreach event at Benson Singing Grove in Benson, North Carolina, and it was a day I won't soon forget.
It was one of those hot summer days where the sun never seemed to let up, but that didn't stop hundreds of people from coming together to serve our community. Volunteers showed up early to prepare free clothing, a hot meal, community resources, games for children, and most importantly, a place where people could experience the love of Jesus.
As I walked around with my camera, everywhere I looked I saw something worth capturing. Families laughing together. Volunteers serving with joyful hearts. People praying with one another. Children playing without a care in the world. Every image reminded me that photography isn't just about documenting an event—it's about preserving moments that matter.
One of the most powerful moments of the day was witnessing two people publicly declare their faith through baptism. Watching their lives be forever changed, surrounded by a community cheering them on, was something truly special. Those are the kinds of moments that remind me why I love event photography. A photograph allows those memories to be shared for years to come.
As an event photographer, I love documenting the details, the smiles, the hugs, the volunteers working behind the scenes, and the candid moments that often become the most meaningful photographs. Events like Temple City Outreach are filled with genuine emotion, and that's exactly the kind of storytelling I strive to capture through my photography.
